Moorish Idol

Every year a few solitary Moorish Idols turn up in Sydney. We've spotted them all over the place from Pittwater to Randwick and even in the Harbour. They look a little out of place here, especially as we are used to seeing them in tropical aquarium tanks.

These fish definitely brighten up Underwater Sydney but they are only ever here for a few months over summer. The water is too cold for them to survive the winter unfortunately. So, unlike in the film Finding Nemo, they actually long to get caught and put in a nice warm aquarium.
