Tiger Pipefish

The Tiger Pipefish is another one of Nature's bizarre experiments - "Let's make a fish with a completely square profile that can't even swim". I get the distinct impression that Nature was very bored that day. It is not as if there are any square holes underwater.

Nature also had a bit of fun with the pattern of the Tiger Pipefish which is how it got its name (not that the pattern looks anything like tiger stripes). All Tiger Pipefish have white spots, but some also have fluorescent blue coloured spots for no apparent reason whatsoever. Nature was clearly feeling overly creative that day.
