Underwater Leichhardt

Leichhardt is one of the big surprises of Underwater Sydney. We really didn't expect to see creatures like Seahorses and Anglerfish here (actually we didn't... but our friends at the Australian Museum did). Despite the murky water and industrial pollution from days gone by, the inner harbour still has an unexpected array of marine life. Unfortunately it's not possible to photograph it well due to the visibility, so we've used some other shots from the harbour to illustrate it.

Home of the Blue Swimmer Crab

Admittedly this Blue Swimmer Crab isn't blue and it is not swimming, but we can assure you that they normally are blue and they can swim, we just had to make do with this photograph. These crabs spend much of their time buried in the sand (probably because they taste so good).
