Peron's Seaslug

Peron's Sealug is one of the strangest sights we've ever seen in Sydney - a big orange blob slowly crawling across the sand.

Scientists alleged that Seaslugs taste foul, which is why this one can get away with being slow moving and bright orange. However, to be honest we doubt scientists have tasted them all - there are hundreds of species (check out http://www.seaslugforum.net).

This Peron's Seaslug was one of the largest Seaslugs we've ever seen. We spotted it on New Year's Day morning in the Harbour on our first dive of the year. Maybe they only come out on New Year's Day morning? We normally take the day off which could be why we've never seen one before or since.
