Green Turtle

Green Turtles aren't called Green Turtles because of their green shells (sometimes the shells can be almost brown). Instead they get their name from their green fat which alledgedly is very green indeed - although we must admit we have never tried to discover this for ourselves.

We don't get many turtles in Sydney, as they tend to prefer the warmer waters up north, but we do get the occassional one popping its head up in Sydney. This one was spotted in the middle of winter at Longreef while we were researching Warringah.
